Learning About Diabetes
Paul Tracey and Seymour Chwast, the co-founders of Learning About Diabetes, Inc., tasked my team to translate their boardgame into an app. The goal of the app was to transform the board game into an updated version that can inform users about Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes in a simple and engaging format. The prototype includes artwork and content from the original board game, along with new character illustrations and minor edits to improve user experience. Fellow designers that I collaborated with on this project are Mireya Quinonez, Megan Hazeltine, Jaime Rodriguez, and William Vaughn.

Mascot
Inspiration behind the mascot for the app came from the blue circle. This circle is the universal symbol for diabetes. It was introduced in 2006 to give diabetes a common identity. By taking the blue circle and the character styles from the game art, we took these two concepts and created this character to represent the app in a user friendly format and give the app a game-like feel.
